The more savvy ones will cite other bogus studies that reference Cameron, rather than citing him directly. As for the not-savvy: Dick Black flew Cameron here from California to testify before the Senate in favor of his 2005 anti-gay adoption bill.

When journalists fail to do their jobs we have to call them on it, every single time, until they get it.

David, Cameron I'm aware of but thought he was so discredited that even Perkins wouldn't cite him. Bob Shrum blasted Perkins on a later edition of "Hardball." Matthews was a lot more criical of him on that show than he was when Perkins was there. I wish these hosts would challenge these guys when they say this shit.

Those references all trace back to discredited "researcher" Paul Cameron. He currently self-publishes through a little ideological think tank he started, because he's been expelled by the APA and can't get published in any peer-reviewed journals. His work was thoroughly debunked years ago, but those like Tony Perkins who still cite it do so because their target audience doesn't know any better.

Cameron actually appeared on the Daily Show recently. I don't think he'd ever watched the Daily Show before.

It's also news to me that "tolerance and diversity" is supposed to include adult predators who abuse power and behave coercively toward vulnerable young people. Tony sure has some strange ideas.
